Plumbing and electrical “rough-ins” are pretty far along and siding’s begun.
We’ve chosen most lighting fixtures, considering adding sconces on the back of the house and have decided to hang a pendant in the stairwell. Using pocket doors created a minor issue with the placement of light switches since the wall they slide into becomes unusable for a switch but we think we’ll be happy with what we’ve chosen to do. The electrician, however, maybe not so much.
Plumbing has gone well, except… the plumbing for the island has been installed by a subcontractor in the wrong location…three times. It’ll be corrected, of course, it’s just a little unsettling. The island had been drawn out and the spot marked last time.
We’re finalizing our chose of tiles with Daltile this week. This includes our new master bath, the floor for the laundry/mud entrance in the back, and the downstairs bath. (We’re not remodeling the downstairs bath – just a freshen up to include a new vanity in the same footprint of the old one, wallpaper removal, new plumbing trim, and tiling the tub surround.)
After firming up all of our material choices, we’re going to more seriously consider wall colors. It’s too soon (and cold) to paint even the existing rooms but we wouldn’t want to make these decisions at the last minute.

What did the plumbers say about the sewer line? Do you have enough diameter to handle more fixtures or are you guys not really adding more to the drainage demand?
Great to see the progress!
Jully!
We’re adding a bit to the sewer demand but nothing significant had to be done.
We learned how to caulk Saturday! So, we won’t need you to caulk the bathtub the next time you’re here on vacation. You’re welcome to, of course. We just won’t require it.
